Why Fairmont?

Why work with Fairmont?

  • You prefer our approach to client service and compensation versus that of the competition’s. There can be no other reason.
  • You discern senior transaction experience, “personal chemistry,” and a mature execution approach that takes responsibility for the advice rendered.
  • Your view on value and process is realistic, tested by experience, and congruent with the market’s expected return for a given level of risk or information.
  • You recognize that quality of information, maturity in execution, personal integrity, and trust determine success or failure.
  • We understand this responsibility and relish the opportunity to assist you in achieving your objectives.

Why is our approach different?

  • We are an independent advisory firm that uses a client-centered approach. We strive to avoid the conflicts of interest which may arise between investment bankers, equity research teams, and capital markets professionals who often compete with each other within the same institution.
  • We reject the institutional arrogance of many investment banks where the presumption of industry expertise is sometimes assumed superior to the clients’ view of the world.
  • We steer away from the use of junior bankers for serious corporate decision-making. These individuals may have limited life experience with theoretical as opposed to practical concepts of valuation, execution, and interpersonal skills.
  • We disdain league table or “cherry picking” transaction attitudes from investment firms that may include avoidance of difficult mandates – assignments that are often the most important to the entity involved.

Our obligation to you, the client:

  • Our primary obligation is to provide you with valuations and strategies tailored to meet current market expectations.
  • Most failed processes are the result of unrealistic expectations or an unwillingness to confront market realities. Our obligation to you, the client, is to assist you in navigating through the market’s many demands for information and performance.
  • We provide corporate boards or principals with unbiased, independent advice - advice that is achievable by a management and banking team committed to common objectives.
  • We mediate between majority shareholder objectives and those of senior management, or minority shareholders.
  • We also listen, learn and grow with you, our client.
